Instructions
Wash and dry the evaporating dish. Pour the evaporated solvent into the evaporating dish (when pouring, the original container and used instrument rinsing fluid such as the splitting funnel should be poured into the evaporating dish for heating). Pour the evaporated solvent into the evaporating dish. It is advisable that the amount in the dish does not exceed 2/3 of the capacity. After the solvent evaporates to dryness, it can be scraped.
Note: When heating on a water bath, the bottom of the evaporating dish should not be invaded by the water in the water bath. Evaporation can be done in a fume hood but not in the air to prevent dust from falling into the evaporating dish. The flat-bottomed evaporating dish can be placed directly on the asbestos mesh for heating, but the temperature must be controlled well so that the liquid can only evaporate and not boil and splash out to avoid causing more or less losses and accidents.
Practical Tips
1.Do not cool quickly after heating to prevent rupture.
2.After heating, it cannot be placed directly on the experimental table. It should be placed on an asbestos net to avoid burning the experimental table.
3.When the amount of liquid is large, it can be heated directly. For small amounts or viscous 4.liquids, an asbestos net or a mud triangle should be placed for heating.
When heating the evaporating dish, stir it continuously with a glass rod to prevent the liquid from being locally heated and splashing around.
5.After heating, you need to use crucible tongs to move the evaporating dish.
6.After a large amount of solids precipitate, extinguish the alcohol lamp and evaporate the remaining water.
7.When heating, you should first preheat with low heat, and then increase the heat with high heat.
8.Use preheated crucible tongs to handle the hot evaporating dish.
